Eighteen Bistro in the Heart of Quezon City

Eighteen Bistro at Tomas Morato
Before Maginhawa and other food scenes booming side by side, Tomas Morato has been the go-to place in Quezon City for good food and night outs. Tomas Morato is known for catering to different taste buds as it offers a wide choices of restaurants. From cafes to bars, to Filipino food to Korean. I guess it's safe to say that North people just cannot simply miss Tomas Morato.

But don't get me wrong, even though the food industry is growing bigger, Tomas Morato has maintained its reputation for being one of the place that one can go to if he/she cannot decide where to eat.. you just can't simply run out of choices here. And to be honest, I want to explore all the food choices the place can offer.

So one Sunday, while I was chilling. My friend Ian invited me to tag along to GourManila's food event at Eighteen Bistro situated at Scout Rallos corner Tomas Morato. And while I was still in my pambahay and stuff, I immediately got ready and pave my way to Morato which by the way is so hassle because the rain started to pour. But who am I to decline, it's food! How can I say "no" to food? haha!

Eighteen Bistro is a family owned business wherein all of the family members have contributed something to make it come to life. Eighteen is a special number for the family, hence the name, Eighteen Bistro. And to make it more eighteen-ish, the seating capacity of the place is 18 and their menu consists of 18 dishes. In my perspective, Eighteen Bistro could be your next Tita's of Manila hangout spot because it just got the ambiance of chill and sophistication at the same time. The place gets also reserved for family dinners and such, which means that the place is known for good food and family vibe. And I agree with it, if I were to organize a family dinner, I would gladly consider this place. Just take note to place a reservation because the seating capacity is quite limited.

There is a relaxed feeling when you're dining here. It's as if you could just come in and relax. No city noise and such. Comfort food and relaxing ambiance, what a place to end the busy week, eh? :)

As for the food, I would say that it has its own distinct taste. Food choices are quite normal but the taste greatly differs from the other restaurants I've tried. You would know then and there that it's prepared meticulously and with high quality. And this being said, I'm sure this place wouldn't disappoint you with the food. I am trying to stay away from pork but their Roasted Pork Belly is so hard to resist. The meat is so soft and I love how it comes with their unique potato slices (which I'm also trying to stay away from because carbs!).

Aside from the food, they also serve alcoholic drinks and desserts which will absolutely make you stay in the place longer. So girls, this place could be your next chill night out spot and catching up dinner place. And if you're quite intrigued about the dessert.. this place's dessert are to die for! And no, I'm not exaggerating. Every dessert is curated so well. Their Warm Chocolate Cake is the perfect chocolate for me! I don't really eat chocolate cakes because I prefer cakes that has a fruity flavor but their chocolate cake is different! I can't translate it into words but this is definitely something I haven't tasted yet before.

And if you aren't convinced yet that this can be your next catch up place, they have an on going promo of 18 pesos per cocktails! Yup, 18 pesos. :)

My Overall rating would be 8.75. My only comment is it could have more variety in food choices.

Thanks to Jerro of GourManila for tagging me along! It was nice meeting you! :)

  1. Hey this is near our place! I've always been spotting this place whenever we go to f7 Rallos and I see a lot of people eating here. That Baked Prawn Casserole is making me drool! Plus the Chicken Parmigiana. How was the price for the food?

  2. I like their name. Bistro is perfect for a small restaurant and they have a theme! 18! I think there is an appeal with small restaurants with limited food choices. One thing that irks me is the virtual unlimited food on the menu when ordering food. I would rather be in a small one with selected dishes rather than a one for all kinds of food types.

  3. Hmmmm the food looks amazing. And if you say that the taste differs from others and it's much better, then perfect! Meat must be soft and nice. I hate it when it's dry. Lovely to see those delicious desserts as well! Yummmm

  5. I'm loving the feels of this Eighteen Bistro! I also live in QC, so this one is very accessible to me. Already there are many restos out here. I think most cater to kindred spirits who want to unwind.

  9. Hmmm foods and drinks are tempting...guess I will be tasting them soon. I definitely love dining places where there is "homely" and "friendly" atmosphere. And that chocolate cake is so heavenly...is it? I won't be counting the calories when I order it there.
