days in 2018. I am not\nexaggerating that. We had a very stressful problem with our Airbnb host and\nAgoda booking. This is most evident when we crossed the Laos-Thailand\nborder. The way the drivers navigate is different from both countries. In Laos,\nthey follow right-hand drive while in Thailand, they follow left-hand drive. So\nyou could literally see differences by just how we changed lanes when we arrive\nin the border of Thailand. I had to research this thoroughly because if not done right, border\ncrossing will get more hassle. Upon searching the world wide web and countless\nborder crossing guides, they all say one same thing, there are A LOT of\nscams happening. With my \u003C\/span\u003E\u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.maayalegaspi.com\/2017\/04\/from-getting-ripped-off-in-hanoi-to.html\" style=\"font-size: 9pt;\" target=\"_blank\"\u003Eexperience in Hanoi being scammed by a taxi driver\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"font-size: 9pt;\"\u003E, I\nknow we have to be vigilant since I think this is one of the meccas of scammers. The thing is, when you cross\nborders, you cannot do it during an overnight trip because the immigration\noffice will be closed by that time. Unlike airports whose immigration is manned\n24\/7, these border immigration offices only open in the morning and close at a\ncertain time so better check the time to avoid problems.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\n\u003Cdiv style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 9pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\n\u003Cdiv style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 9pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nOf course, the initial\nplan was to ride an overnight bus but since the immigration office closes at\nnighttime, we opt to take the day bus. We\ndecided to get some food because it would be a very long ride. I think 8 hours\nmore or less. We didn't have any USD with us so we are all starving. It sounds\nfunny to me now but believe my horror and my stress when I thought we had no\nplace to stay in. What's a girl gotta do you ask? I tried contacting Airbnb. I\nused my PH number (which was billed 1000+) for the call I made. Huhu. To make\nthe story short, they gave us $50 to go and book a hotel where we can stay in\nfor the night then they will find us a place the next day in Airbnb where we\ncan check in.\u003C\/div\u003E\n\u003Cdiv style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 9pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\n\u003Cdiv style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 9pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nSo I booked via Agoda.\nMy patience was getting shorter and shorter and the fatigue is eating me alive.\nGUESS WHAT?! The hotel we booked was fully booked!!! We had to climb a flight\nof stairs with our luggage only to find out it was freaking fully booked. By\nthis point, I feel like crying already. They made the call for\nus and told the other hotel that we are coming. Agoda, on the other hand, assured\nme that the payment will be refunded plus they gave a voucher I can use on my\nnext booking. I am not pleased with the voucher, just imagine the hassle. To be honest, the accommodation we had in KL is one of the best yet I've booked in Airbnb. For the price, it totally gave us something more. It is in the city center and most tour packages offer free pick up from this hotel. I will not lie though, The Face Suites is quite expensive as this building is relatively new and was just constructed last 2016. During our stay, it is the newest building in KL.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nI found out about this hotel in an in-flight magazine from one of my flights this year. I actually love reading in-flight magazines as it gives me a glimpse of what to expect on my next destination. The suggestions too are very helpful. So while browsing, The Face Suites was suggested as an accommodation in KL.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nI didn't know this type of media still works like I didn't know magazines can still convince readers. I wonder how it works for advertisements.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nOne of the thing that The Face Suites is known for is its mesmerizing infinity pool that gives the majestic view of Petronas Twin Towers on the left and KL tower on the right. It is the perfect backdrop. The other choice? Booking an accommodation in Airbnb. But those rooms there doesn't have an infinity pool, right? ~*\u003Cb\u003EWRONG*~.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/b\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nTurns out The Face Suites also has an apartment side wherein the owners lend the rooms and advertise in Airbnb. The apartment side of the hotel is called \u003Cu\u003E\u003Cb\u003EPlatinum suites.\u003C\/b\u003E\u003C\/u\u003E That's why I was confused when I was booking because the infinity pool looks totally the same but the rooms say it's from Platinum suites. Also, the lit sign on top of the building says Platinum Suites while in the entrance, you'll see The Face Suites. We were able to enjoy the same infinity pool, only that we don't have towel stubs so we just brought our own. No problem with that. Haha! And guess what? Haha! So our rented apartment comes with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and our kitchen. It even has washing machine, and microwave oven. Super fast wifi and cable tv. There are a total of four aircons inside. If this doesn't give you a major wow then I don't know what will. The only difference is that we don't have anyone to do stuff for us like everyday cleaning of the room and such as this is not part of the serviced area. Well, I am not complaining though. We can do things ourselves. ;)\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nThere are many listings of apartments under Platinum Suites in Airbnb. Some only have 1 bedroom while some are bigger. Some also has the view of the Twin towers right outside your window and some even have Wii and Playstation 4. I was supposed to book the one with the wii but it was for 8++ people.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Ccenter style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003E\nNonetheless, the one I booked didn't disappoint but instead exceed our expectation. When I come back in KL, I'll probably book the same room. The host is even nice and comes quickly when we need something. Forgive me too if I don't have photos of the room becaause upon seeing the room, we all jumped and checked the room and I forgot to take photos of the room. It's quite refreshing to stay in a place where you would live with the locals (Yes, in case you want to book this place, note that you will be staying with the home owners, AKA, the locals). Plus points for the French rustic vibes! So we're originally planning on staying at Kamiseta hotel but for some reasons, the rates suddenly went up and we thought it's not \u003Ci\u003Esulit\u003C\/i\u003E anymore. I didn't know this kind of home stay exists in Baguio. Our host, Ms. Chantal made sure all we need is taken care of, and she made sure we feel at home. But without too much effort, we definitely felt at home instantly! The rustic French interiors is so pleasing in the eyes you can have an on the spot photo shoot. Lol! Every time we go to Baguio, we usually stay at Veniz Hotel. Not to mention that most of us are straight from work. And Chantal, being so nice to us, allowed us to check in a little early so we can take a nap before the long day ahead. But! right after seeing the main house, we couldn't take a nap anymore because we're all amazed with the house. it was so uhmm.. instagrammable! There, I said it. \u0026nbsp;And by the way, they also have another place for rent, which is the Le Coq Floral. The boys stayed there because we couldn't all stay in Le Coq Bleu as the main suite is already occupied by the other guests. And yeah, what can you expect in Le Coq Floral if Le Coq Bleu is already amazing? Le Coq Floral is amazing too! It can cater to huge groups of people as it has lots of room. Gates are closed at 10PM, no extensions. I think it is fine for us though because we don't have anything planned for the night. Chantal was also kind enough to let us use the fireplace while we bond over it. Actually, she's very kind to share some of her stories and how her and sir Boi met. Mind you, the breakfast was soooo filling and yummy! We had our strawberry yogurt which is so creamy! I actually wanted to buy for myself but we no longer have time to visit Baguio Dairy Farm. Perfect for dog lovers too as Chantal and Boi have dogs that is roaming around within the house. Though one thing to note too is that since this is inside a residential subdivision, you need to walk for around 1KM to get to the main road for transportation if you don't have your own private vehicle.
